| This permanent outdoor sculpture was created for the Ansung International Roadside Sculpture Symposium 1999. These ‘figures’ are intended to represent the memories of our collective ancient ancestors or loved ones that have passed away. Each was filled with logs and branches. During the opening ceremonies smoke, cinders, and ash rose 30’ in the sky creating a hushed and spiritually charged atmosphere. It was a cold night and the warmth emanating from the figures drew the visitors to them. | |||||||||||
