The boat form functions as a figurative vessel around which themes of mourning and ascension, vision and spirit are played out. The earthen mounds acknowledge our ancestors, who erected similar structures. St. Louis, to this day, is referred to as ‘Mound City.’ (Commissioned by the Laclede’s Landing Foundation with the support from the Regional Arts Commission, Downtown St. Louis Business District, and Arts in Transit.) |
