		Beacon II - Matheare Project
		2005, tree form, mirror, 18 ’h Matheare, Nairobi, Kenya
		Working with the children of Matheare, the second largest slum in East Africa, this tree was re-created from fallen branches. The children then applied broken shards of mirror to its surface prior to ceremoniously planting it on the highest point in the neighborhood. This jewel on the horizon simultaneously reflects the slum below and the blue sky above creating a sense of place.
