Floating between earth and sky, heaven and hell, a woven steel exoskeleton protects an ambiguous form. This form resembles boat/vessel, nest, cocoon, or sarcophagus, places where transformations occur. The exterior surface has been charred, suggesting rebirth, while the gold interior presents a sacred space. The stone ‘shadow’ beneath is intended to symbolize the passage all living things embark upon.
