Trees and vessels are re-occurring images in my work. This time they stand and float in front of a steel ‘drawing’ the surface of which is imbued with marks and symbols, all of which create a dialogue. The surface of this steel ‘drawing’ has been etched with contour lines, not unlike the way wind and water currents are depicted on maps. Additional marks and symbols appear/disappear-react/interact with the tree form and the cargo laden ‘vessel’ to create a dialogue pertaining to the ephemeral nature of life. |
